Nysa bus

Hello!

This is my first post in your forum. I hope that some of you understand english.
Your capri.pl site is very informative and useful for all capri-owners.

My dailydriver is -79 3.0 Essex powered Mk3. Pictures: http://www.fordcapri.4u.ee
I have 4 more Capris, and also some other cars.

At the moment I am interested in polish minibus Nysa. If any of you can find ANY information about it's specs, technique, ... If anybody has its repair-manual or whatever useful regarding to Nysa, I would be very thankful!

Why Nysa?
Because Nysa is based (engine, g'box, running gear) on FSO Warszawa, which is just a licence-built GAZ Pobieda - itself a stolen Ford design, manufactured in Ford-invented and built factory at Gorki. Simple - isn't it?

Question - how big are Nysa-s fuel tanks?

Have any of you got pictures of tuned Nysas? Alloy wheels, spoilers, ...

Do you know any Nysa, that has bigger engine than original?

As far as I know most Nysas have a single 55-litre underfloor fuel tank on the left, just behind the driver. Some 10 years ago at the annual meeting of Polish Aeroclubs I have spotted a modified Nysa bus, belonging to one of the clubs. But neither spoilers & side sills nor chrome front bars were fitted. The engine was Peugeot Indenor 2.5 diesel (cannibalised from a crashed Granada) and alloy wheels were taken from Suzuki Vitara. The Pobieda/Nysa original hub pattern is perhaps 5x140mm and Suzuki/Kia uses 5x5.5in (so 5x139.7mm). The 15" wheels can be shod with 195R15 or 205R15 tyres or you can find 16" alloys with similar mounting pattern - in such a case even the 185s will do.
Concerning multicylinder engines - here the only experienced person is KAROL. Probably the V6 Ford and V8 Rover will fit easily into the frame, as there were police Volgas (basically similar engine bay & front suspension design) manufactured with the M13 Chaika V8.

If you want change engine in Nysa, yes, you can put there V8.....I saw that in your country some crazy maniacs build Fiat 126p with V8 351M ....So! EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!

This is very cool idea

I haven't had engine V6 in my Warszawa jet. Maybe in spring, it is a matter of time.
I have not so much experience with NYSA, but with FSO WARSZAWA/Pobieda. Many parts of Warszawa: mechanical, power transmission, suspension, brakes , electrical are the same or compatible with afterwards NYSA and ZUK.

My friend in Wolga GAZ M-21 replaced the complete front axle from Nysa/Zuk/Warszawa without problems. Maybe in your country you can inversely changed. Maybe there are more compatible parts.

Driving axle is this same like in GAZ 69 (some UAZ 469 have 4 satellites - is stronger)
The final drive ratio is compatible in all versions: 1:4,10 (from Tarpan Diesel), 1:4,55 (from Warszawa, Tarpan), 1:5,125 (Warszawa/Pobieda, Zuk, Tarpan, Gaz/Uaz).I heard that standard driving axle can work good only with max. motor - 2.3V6 Ford.
Stronger 2.8V6 could break final ratio axle.

To stronger engine I definitely recommend 5- gear box.

For engine V6 in Warszawa is full places, for Nysa I am not sure completely, but I think is very similarly and little easier because is full chasis frame.
For much stronger V8 with higher torque, You must find better axle. It's maybe problem with cooler places, but all is to do ;)

I have a book- repair manual for NYSA 521 but in polish language. If you are really such an enthusiast of Nysa and you have not any possibility, I can make a copy or a scan (220 pages).
In Poland replacements for this car, are very cheap, so we invite you for Polish Capri meeting ;). You only say what you need earlier, and we buy everything for you :)
